Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley M. Vincent, 75, will be conducted Monday, January 25th, at 10:00a.m. in the chapel of Holy Family Cemetery with Deacon Wade Broussard officiating. Visitation will be held at Acadian Funeral Home Sunday from 11:00a.m. until service time Monday.
Mrs. Vincent passed away Friday, January 22nd, at 7:55 p.m. at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Mrs. Vincent was born in La Rose, LA, raised in Marrero, LA and moved to New Iberia in 1954. She lived in New Iberia until 1992 when she moved to Erath, LA.
Shirley enjoyed cooking for her family every weekend and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband Richard Vincent, Sr., five daughters, Sandra Tassin and Lisa Tassin of Erath, Lisa Istre, Michelle Andrus and husband Troy, Danielle Delcambre and husband Jimmy of New Iberia, two sons, Richard Vincent, Jr. and wife Stacie of New Iberia and Hector Vincent and fiancé ’Kristie Hardy of Erath, two brothers, Bernard Walker and Sidney Walker Jr. of New Iberia. She has 23 grandchildren, Shelia Duplantis and husband Jim, Carman Bienvenu and husband Nick, Paul Tassin, Starla Klien and husband Josh, Johnathan Frederick and wife April, Eric Frederick and wife Heather, Tiffany Vincent, Felicia Tassin and fiance’ Nick Landry, Troy Andrus Jr. and wife Barbara, William Andrus, Brandon Andrus, Ridge Melancon, Richard Vincent III, Nola Vincent, Aaron Vincent, Julien Vincent, Alyssa Vincent, Haley Vincent, Temika Broussard and husband Rydell, Coty Melancon and wife Dawn, Chase Melancon and wife Michelle, Tommy Melancon, and Breighlynn Delcambre. Great Grandchildren are Felicia Duplantis, Brook Duplantis, Logan Duplantis, Lance LeBouef, Drake Broussard, Ethan Bienvenu, Mallorie Tassin, Gavin Tassin, Layton Klien, Tristian and Ryli Frederick, Zaylon Vincent, tatum Landry, Lane Frederick and Breeslynn Andrus, and one Great-Great Grandson Jason Standridge along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother Marie Leo Pauldine Saintes, father Sidney Walker, Sr. her son Arthur Tassin , Jr. and brother Harold Walker, Sr.
Pallbearers will be Jim Duplantis, Nicholas Bienvenu, Hector Vincent, Paul Tassin, Eric Frederick, Troy Andrus, Richard Vincent, Jr.
Honorary Pallbearers are Lance LeBouef, Logan Duplantis, Ridge Melancon, Troy Andrus Jr. , William Andrus, Tommy Melancon, and Necess “Jhonnie”.
In lieu of flowers donations are asked to defray medical and funeral expenses.
Acadian Funeral Home, 802 Weldon Street, New Iberia 364-6162 is in charge of arrangements.
