Funeral services for Raymond J. Broussard, age 63, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Father Blaine Clement will officiate. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Acadian Funeral Home. A rosary will be prayed on Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will resume at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until service time.
Mr. Broussard worked in the oilfield business for 21 years, he worked for Otis Engineering, Maco Schlumberger, Halliburton, and drove boats for Stockstill boats. He enjoyed playing cards and he was a commercial fisherman. He also had a seafood business in New Iberia call Sandra’s Seafood & Daiquiris. Mr. Broussard was a former member of the National Guard.
He is survived by his loving wife Sandra Jenkins Broussard of Duson, his children ; Lynn Broussard and wife Kim of Baton Rouge, Lon Broussard and wife Mindy of Tacoma, WA, Chantel Broussard and fiancee’ Toby Landry, Tamara Guillot and husband John , and Azure Bass and husband William all of New Iberia; three brothers; Bobby Broussard, Rickey Broussard and Richard Broussard; along with 23 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; also four step children Rickey Romero and wife Jackie of Eunice, Jamie Romero, Brandon Romero and wife Nichole, and Lacie Romero all of Lafayette, with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents Kosute Broussard and Rita Romero Broussard, grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Willie Romero
